Once again, the Amateur Musicians Club at York High School gave students the opportunity to have their original songs come to life at the Boulevard Studio. Despite trying times, the album gave students a creative outlet and a goal to work toward during the COVID pandemic. 

“I was actually really nervous because I’ve never recorded anything in a professional studio or anything like that, but Grant was super helpful and supportive when it came to recording in the studio and mixing the final drafts of my song.”

Over the course of several months, a number of students of the Amateur Musicians Club at York High School had the opportunity to have a song recorded and mixed at Boulevard Studio. The songs were compiled into The Road Home, the most recent addition to the York Album Project’s semi-annual compilation album. 

“It feels incredible to work so hard on something and have other people love it. To have such a deeply personal experience be validated by the people you love is an incredible feeling. It was my favorite part last year and it was this year as well.”

Tis once again that time of year, and while many are sending traditional holiday cards, we elected to make ours with audio! Recorded at the Boulevard Studio inside CrossFunction Flexible Workspace, Oak Park, Illinois, here’s a little spot from the CrossFunction Team to wish you all a very happy holiday. 

Guests at CrossFunction’s Inaugural Founder’s Celebration were interviewed with a series of questions about one of business’s most important topics: the office. What does your dream office look like? The show The Office vs. Office Space? These questions and more were asked to dozens of our friends and investors by Grant Mitchell, CrossFunction’s studio manager and head audio producer.
